Corsika data check

Introduction

The corsika data will be used complementary for EHE analysis, for example estimating effect of fluctuation both in muon generation and the propagation in earth, and bundle effect, too.

However, the corsika generation can be possibly slow, so I optimized some values for the generation. One is ECUTS value of corsika for the muon generation threshold energy, and another is MinEnergy value of brutus project for the threshold energy to make photons.

Procedure

At first, I made corsika text files with a corsika input. In this study, I only tried proton as the primary particle. Next step is to propagate particles with mmc with this script. The last step is to make photons and simulate detector responses with this script.

I tried ECUTS value of 500 GeV, 1 TeV and 2 TeV, and I tried 50 GeV, 100 GeV, 300 GeV, 1 TeV and 2 TeV.

Results

Summary

The most results looks reasonable.

There is a large disagreement between observational data and corsika MC.

I found the ECUTS of 1 TeV and MinEnergy of 100 GeV reasonable.

(Actually, the ECUTS of 300 GeV is too time consuming to use.)

The systematic error by using these condition is estimated as ~15%.
